Privacy Policy

GFA PNG Angler Hub ("Angler Hub", "we", "our") is a platform operated for the six member clubs of the Game Fishing Association of Papua New Guinea. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

1. Information we collect

Account details: name, email, phone, date of birth, gender, club, membership category.
Fishing activity: catch records (species, weight, line class, location, photos, GPS where you provide it), boat, competition entries.
Device & usage: browser type, OS, basic crash and error diagnostics, the page you were on when you sent feedback.

2. How we use it

To run club competitions, leaderboards, and end-of-season awards.
To verify catches and reconcile club records.
To send transactional emails (capture approvals, membership status, password resets).
To improve the app — crash and error diagnostics, and performance.

3. Who can see your data

Your club admins can see your member record and catches submitted to that club.
Other members of your club can see leaderboards, competition results and public season highlights — your name appears alongside your catches.
Platform administrators have access to all clubs for support and maintenance.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for advertising.

4. Photos and location

Photos you attach to a capture are stored with that capture. Billfish tag & release submissions require a photo as evidence and are visible to club admins and, once approved, to other club members. Location is captured only as a grid square (e.g. "Alpha 6") — we do not continuously track your device.

5. Offline data

When you log a catch offline, it is stored on your device in local browser storage and IndexedDB until your device reconnects. At that point it is uploaded and the local copy is cleared.

6. Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account from the Profile page (Account Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your app login so it can no longer be used to access the app. Your club membership record, past catches, and the contact details your club holds are retained by the club as club records (with your name as it appeared at the time) so that competition results and the record book stay intact. If you want a full erase, contact your club admin.

7. Security

The app runs on the Base44 platform. Communications are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Backend access is restricted to authorised club and platform admins.

8. Children

Junior membership is available for anglers under 18 with parent or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 without that consent.

9. Changes

We will update the date at the top of this page when the policy changes. Material changes will be communicated via club admins.
